So how does one make drunken peaches? Very simply is the answer my friends. Basically you just sit down with a few peaches, play some drinking games with them and voila! In no time at all you have yourself drunken peaches. And what does a drunken peach do? Why it sings a beautiful, delicious song. This recipe relies on the delightful sweetness of a peach to do the singing with just a few added ingredients to jazz it up and ensure your guests know you went to a little bit of effort for their dessert. It’s sweet, simple and light, so jump on in and get those peaches drunk!
Drunken Peaches
Feeds: 4 Hungry Piglets
Prep Time: 5 Mins. Cooking Time: 10 Mins.
Ingredients of Drunkenness:
4 x Ripe Plump Peaches
3 x Tbs Brown Sugar
1 x Tsp Butter
½ x Mint Bunch
50g x Almond Slivers
50ml x Brandy
Yoghurt or Ice cream to serve.
Method of Drunkenness:
- Slice your peaches into halves and remove the stones.
- Heat your butter in a large fry pan until it is bubbling.
- Place your peaches flat side down and gently press down with a spatula to slightly flatten them.
- Cook for around 5 mins or until hot to the touch on the top and brown on the underside – you may need to turn your pan down to stop the peaches burning.
- Pour your brandy over the peaches and allow the liquid to bubble away until evaporated.
- Scatter over your brown sugar and allow to caramelise for about 1 minute.
- Add in your almond slivers and continue to cook until your peaches are caramlised on the bottom and your almond slivers are turning a golden brown.
- Remove your peaches and almonds from the pan.
- Serve out your ice cream or yoghurt (are we being healthy or decadent tonight piglets? Do you have an awkwardly healthy person coming over or one of those piglets that enjoys a little dairy treat?) and then place your drunken peaches on top.
- Rip up the mint and scatter over along with your caramelized almond slivers.
- Tuck in with enthusiasm piglets to your simple yet perfect dessert and don’t burn your tongue because it will ruin the taste when you go back for seconds! Oink!
